FAQs About Counseling

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take Insurance?

No.

Insurance and counseling can be complicated. Medical insurance is helpful if you are diagnosed with a medical problem. However, it doesn’t cover relational issues such as marital distress, parenting, and the like. It requires a mental illness diagnosis for a client to use insurance.

What will this cost me?

The rate for a 50 minute session is $150.

Forms of Payment Accepted:

How do I know I need counseling?

If you are asking the question, you most likely need counseling.

However, people use counseling for a number of reasons (life transitions, crisis, relational issues, trauma, emotional distress, grief, loss, and the like).

I recommend counseling BEFORE your stress becomes crisis.

The longer you live with your issue, the harder it becomes to find peace and wellness.

How do I know you can help?
The counseling relationship is paramount. To make sure you are comfortable with me, I provide a one-time free phone consultation, if necessary. We will briefly discuss your presenting problem, potential therapeutic strategy, and how I might approach our time together.

If you feel we are not a good fit together, I have several therapists in the area to whom I can refer you. The goal is to find you the best help possible.

Why should contact I you?
Simply put, it’s worth the time. If I’m not right for you, we will find someone who is.

If you want to understand your behavior and how to change it, I can help.
